Airline ticket seat sale from Cathay Pacific was sent recently to us for departures from Eastern Canada cities of Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal to Manila, Philippines.
Departure dates included in the offer are from Oct. 24 to Nov. 30, 2011 and from Jan. 1 to May 24, 2012 valid for trans-Pacific flights leaving Toronto in the afternoon and returning from Manila early morning.
The lowest possible airfare for economy we found within those dates mentioned above is priced at $1,399 and the ticket is valid for 3 months.
Some December departures are also included in the Cathay Pacific airline seat sale but are priced higher at $1,599 (Dec. 1 to 10, 2011) and $1,849 (Dec. 11 to 23, 2011) but as of this time, it would be very difficult to find available confirmed seats for December departures because most seats are taken. Also, even if the seat is available on your desired date for December, returning date would be a challenge because many of those who booked early are coming back January or early February. Be ready to be very flexible on your date if you really want to fly to Manila on December.
All bookings must be confirmed before ticketing, no waitlisting allowed. Confirmed return date, no open return allowed – changes on the return at no charge permitted subject to difference in price of class of service. Children 2 to 11 years is 75% of adult net ticket price. No one way ticket issuance and not valid for those coming from the Philippines as prepaid ticket (PTA) passengers.
Montreal and Ottawa departures fly with either Westjet or Air Canada for their connection with the trans-Pacific flight and is subject to 7 days advanced booking.

I am planning to go home to Manila on May 19 and be back on June 16. Is it still safe to book in February? Can I still avail of the price $1,399? Or is there a chance for the price to go down during the first quarter of 2012?
@Celia – you may purchase your ticket anytime you want but there’s no certainty that the price will be the same. It may go down or may go up, we are not sure. The airline companies decide on the pricing for the ticket.
WITH THIS SALE, Is it possible to purchase just a one-way fare, booked within three mos then pay the remaining before the flight back? Thanks…
