I missed this airfare seat sale by Northwest Airlines for the reason that many Filipino residents of Canada are trying to avoid going thru the United States because of the hassle they say they experience with U.S. immigration and customs. Security is very tight in any U.S. gateway and most of the time, because of too many luggages upon their return to Canada – many of them are either questioned in length, their “pasalubong” to their folks back in Canada confiscated and they have to re-pack all their belongings that the customs people in the U.S. have inspected thoroughly – resulting in so much inconvenience for them.
But anyway, for those who have no problem with any U.S. restrictions or tight airport security – Northwest Airlines have also an airline seat sale offer of CAD$1,100 return from Toronto to Manila – taxes included. The plane will take passengers to either Minneapolis or Detroit gateway before proceeding to Manila.
That price is quoted for weekday departure and weekday return. If you want to depart or return on a weekend, an additional of CAD$35 must be added each way.
